November 9th, 2011

This week of teacher convention always comes up quickly and is relatively packed.  I had good intentions of going this year however my daycare provider decided last minute that she was not able to watch my son even though we had agreed that she would on Friday.  I was hoping to get down to the convention for at least one day. However it is not a wise idea to take a 17 month old to a packed convention with no ability to nap.  So instead I decided to work on my digital story.  That also ended badly.  I was having trouble making a story out of the pictures that I had on my laptop so I decided that I would do a digital story on my baby horse (who is no longer with us.)  but all of the pictures that I had of her were  on my desktop.  Long story short my desktop decided to die and I have done everything that I possibly can to revive it.  I spent the better part of the weekend trying various techniques to recover the data on the drive with no success.  I only have two options left one of which is to disconnect the C and hook up another harddrive to reinstall the operating system on and then try to remove the information from the C drive, or send the whole stupid computer to my brother in MA to fix it.  I know that the computer itself is not worth saving but I really would like my pictures and my entire music collection.  So I cannot sync my Ipod to any other computer because if I do I will erase my entire music collection off of it.  Basically its a mess. Sigh.

  1. Hi Julia,

Sorry to hear about your computer problems. That's an awful feeling to lose your photos and music.

I recently filled up my entire hard drive with photos. It's a scary thought to imagine losing them all.

Do you use Flickr at all? Flickr is a good site for storing and sharing photos. You can also access them from any computer as long as you remember your login.
